Steelers clinch 6th seed at worst

Bengals beat Denver, the 7th seed will have 8 losses. Still have to beat a red hot Cincy team to get the 5th and Houston, otherwise we’re likely going to Baltimore with the Chargers finishing with the Raiders.

    Need the 5th seed IMO.

    Don't want BUF or BAL.

We've played well against the Bengals recently. We tend to remember PF is on the team. And they defend him like we do Kelce (or Grok in the day)

There is no easy path the way the Steelers have played the last 3 weeks. Maybe they can fix the defense. Maybe they can get some offensive rhythm going.

I thought their best chance was a home playoff game to start. But I'll be shocked (though pleased) if they get past the first round - even if it's Houston.

        • No 7th seed @ Buffalo WC weekend
        • 3rd seed Vs. Chargers: Browns win + Steelers win week 18
        • 5th seed @ Texans: Chargers loss OR Steelers win + Ravens win week 18
        • 6th seed @ Ravens: Chargers win + Ravens win + Steelers loss week 18
My projection; Steelers are going back to Baltimore in the WC round. And they have only themselves to blame.

I've been thinking we'd get the Rats for most of the season.

Do we know if Porter will be back this week?

With him I think we beat the Bengals and play at HOU.

Without I think we give up too much passing against Cincy and we head to BAL.

Absolutely correct. Bengals eat us alive w/o Porter, will be tough WITH him.

We need Porter to give us a chance but even then offense needs big points.

I thought PG already said no Porter until playoffs

Am I the only one who thinks Baltimore might be a better matchup? Last game notwithstanding, we know them and play them close every game. Houston isn’t as good this year but completely pants’d our D last year, and we’re not that familiar with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case.

But I think that will mean we have to win in a shootout.

They do have a bad defense, so I suppose there is some hope. Hopefully we can generate turnovers.

If we can get healthy I don't think a Rats game would be a lost cause.

Bu I think BAL had a higher chance of running up the score than HOU.

I hope you're right re BAL though. Starting to think it's the most likely outcome.

I think Texans are easier matchup but i'd prefer to play Batimore as i like opportunities to knock division foes out in the playoffs. If they win the divison but knock them out & go further their division title is sorta meaningless.

Many people will also say it's hard to beat the same team twice in less than a month.

Obviously 34-17 is an awful final score result, but in the last three games, that was the one game that could have easily have gone either way, and as a whole was not as bad as the score. Some uncommon mistakes and bounces. Obviously, not fumbling inside the 5, and not giving up a 90+ yard TD drive on the heels of that would change the game significantly.

That being said, I'll take Houston.

If we're not getting a bye or a home game, then I don't care about the seeding. You have to be able to compete with the best in the playoffs. Scraping by the wildcard round to get plastered in the next is only infinitesimally more enjoyable than getting blasted in the wildcard round.

I'll take the Rats. We're likely to have to go through them anyway. Would be immensely enjoyable to knock them out in the wildcard round. It's not like we're going to win the Super Bowl this year. So, my Super Bowl "equivalent" would be to knock out the Rats. That would be a successful season for me.

Bingo, and I honestly think we match up well with them.
