I guess I just noticed that our "system" seemed a lot worse without Porter. Because CB (and WR) were the thinnest positions going into the season this year.

Or Jackson I guess. After the first Bengals drive seemed to be "throw it to whoever Trice is covering". Nice slip and slide move though.

They threw to Higgins on Porter, Geiki middle of the field & Chase on Trice...EVERYWHERE we played soft D

Fair...D is really sucking right now. Game might be over if they score here. And it doesn't look like we have much chance to stop them.

          Sadly taking the L here...

Higgins being knocked out of the game made things a little easier for the DBs. But the TEs were killing the LBs.

Little bit of A, little bit of B. Between Lebeau's 3-4 and Kiffin's Tampa 2 we're running a boatload of outdated defense...

Per PFF grades, 138 CBs have played 100 or more coverage snaps this season.

Donte Jackson is now ranked 132nd

                    Cam Sutton is ranked 128th

Ah, but where does Pierre rank? You know the guy started six games for the Steelers in his career?

                    Your link does not work.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Start at the front & work your way back. If the DL is shortening the QB's time, the DB's look better. If the QB doesn't have holes to run through, the DB's look better.

My biggest concern in pass defence is our inability to cover short areas. Our LB's have been picked on since Brady did it to us.

We need to get to the QB from the DL. Or magically, we need DL to cover the short areas in pass defence. I'm pretty sure I know which is easier to achieve.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                      Light up the darkness.

This is true. We have one star WR, a bunch of 3's and 4's. But how good is R Wilson?

Finding a decent WR in the draft or free agency is not that hard. Austin III is a dangerous #3. He might be a bit better with a quality #2.

Our real problem is we have no QB1.

I would be very interested, suppose it just depends on exactly how much bank he wants.
JPJ has in fact messaged me that he is very pro Tomlin getting fired. We have a mutiny brewing ... Pickens, Porter...

Tomlin's jive does not seem to be working with the Gen Z guys.

                            B. Murphy or C. Davis as a FA #2, with J. Muhammad in Round 3 as the new slot CB. Also, add B. Bowman in Rd 6 as S depth and developmental player. New secondary.

How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
