    Revisiting Edmunds over Lamar

Edmunds released, ending his mediocre career with the Steelers. Meanwhile, Lamar is the odds-on favorite to win his 3rd MVP.

If we make the right choice, Lamar is trotting onto the field in 2019 in San Francisco, not Mason Rudolph, and Ben likely never starts another game in Pittsburgh.

With hindsight being 20/20 I would have been satisfied with the Steelers drafting Nick Chubb first in 2018 since that was the same year that LeVeon Bell decided to sit out the entire season.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

And there was no way were were going to replace Ben at that point in his career.

Ben was talking retirement in the offseason before 2018, and they drafted Mason to be his replacement in the same draft.

If the Steelers truly drafted BPA every year, Lamar would be a Steeler.

I think it was pretty clear that Ben was telling them to get rid of Haley.

The selection of Terrell Edmunds has set the Steelers franchise back 5 years.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.

If he's significantly worse than LJ, it's probably more like 15 years.

The key to Lamar's success is that the Ravens built a system around him. Does anyone really think the Steelers bring in an innovator to create this offense? On the Steelers, Lamar is, at best, a pretty good, athletic QB.

Hard to predict Lamars success. I would suggest that Russ’ backup was a MUCH MORE intriguing prospect.

He's had 3 offensive coordinators and none have gone on to greater things. Must be a Harbaugh thing.
