When you roll an ankle it feels like its broken. Rolled mine in basketball and heard a crunch sound.. I was out for about 2 days.

Worst part is I had to walk home after practice.

This was just a personal observation from someone who was in the locker room after the game. Of course, DK is not a Dr, so there is no attempt to diagnose here. But Highsmith was walking around with no boot, no tape, no crutches, or having any other indication it was serious.

Here is the video...go to the 9:13 mark if you want to hear his comments.

Every fan deals with the stress of the season and game day differently, take off the robe and put down the gavel, nobody appointed you fan judges and nobody gives a **** what you think.
I told you before, when Cowher won the SB those of US who defended Cowher (yes I was one of the loudest Cowher defenders) were MERCILESS on his haters on the Trib forum.

And after YEARS OF HATING on Cowher, they deserved the humiliation they suffered. Some of the most DELICIOUS gloating ever of a forum.

If we were to win it will be a bumpfest here my friend.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Yes, real fans care more about calling out doubters than winning. Spot on.

How many of you fan police were or are:

          - School hall monitors
          - HOA board members
          - Karens and Neils in general

Does anyone else feel like we are fighting an uphill battle against the refs every week? I feel like they call the most tricky tac penalties against us and seem to swallow the whistle while our pass rushers are getting mugged in the backfield.

Yes, I've noticed this for many years. They always mugged James Harrison on every pass rush attempt and nothing ever got called. And it's continued to this day against TJ Watt and others.

It felt like it this week.

I think part of it was that Scary Terry is a wily vet and was able to draw a couple from Porter.

For a while there, it did seem like all of their pass plays were either a good gain or a flag. Although there's probably some bias in there on my part.

If there was bias on the flags, we got it back with the spot they gave our D on that 4th down. Even though spots almost never get overturned, I thought for sure they'd give it to him. I think he had the ball past the sticks, then came back a bit.

Glad it didn't get overturned though. I think that the league still technically says that it only overturns if irrefutable evidence. But don't think that's true in practice.

As I said, this comes from playing LJ twice a year. The defense knows mobile QBs:

only on the holds not being called on Watt. No way refs call all of them or every play would have a flag.

Porter is his own worst enemy. The end zone penalty was bunk but Porter had his hands on him which made it easy for the refs.

McLaurin is a beast and you see what happens when you don’t get a hand on him.

I like the way JPJ plays even if it ends up costing us on a few plays.

Same goes for JPJ on the penalties. Can't/won't call it on every play. BAL and KC DBs are just as grabby and don't get the calls. Seen my fill of passive CBs for the Steelers over the recent years. Like the aggression.

Don't have to call all of them.

But when the OT grabs hold of both his shoulder pads and throws him to the turf to prevent a safety? Maybe call that one.

That was the only one I was really frustrated about.

I complained about the calls on Porter in the game thread, but most were legit. Maybe a couple where TM kind of took a dive. I agree it wouldn't be nearly as convincing if Porter doesn't have his hands on him. But I think that's just who he is. And it works most of the time. And will probably work more as he builds a name for himself. Might just be like Ben where you live with the bad so you can benefit from the good?

Watt gets flat out tackled numerous times a game. Can’t call every play but it is almost never called. Even when egregious.

Oh forgot MY WIFE had been a KAREN for FIVE DECADES before the name became a slur (no joke). One might think Id take issue with it but nope.

Being able to call her by her given name as a jab when we are fighting is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
