The NFL, which has about 40% of the TV watchers bieng women, should have at least 1 year punishment for any player who assaulted a woman. Just ask them and I bet 90%+ will agree.

Bishop has been very productive as a nickle / dime CB. We don't need Sutton. This is a very bad look. He belongs in Cleveland or Baltimore . If I were head coach, I would not want him. He played poorly in Detroit last year.

During the argument, Sutton picked up the woman and slammed her into a wall, then bit her on the neck, leaving a quarter-sized abrasion that bled, the affidavit states. Sutton then grabbed the woman by the face and neck and choked her, causing her to briefly lose consciousness, according to the affidavit.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Bishop is 20th in the NFL for completion rate allowed among CBs targeted at least 20 times. In Sutton's last season with the Steelers he was the 7th ranked CB in the league in completion % allowed.

Sutton is short and slow which is why Pierre started over him so many times.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Correct, not even close. It will be interesting to see if Sutton is in football shape or will gradually be rotated in.

I like that Bishop has filed in and been OK.

He gets picked on a lot, but it's good that he's got some picks in the last couple games. Hopefully that makes teams think twice.

But my guess is that the pass defense will be better when Sutton is back. Hopefully it doesn't take him long to shake off the rust.

I believe that he's allowed to practice now that he's been reinstated.

Steelers waive OLB, release two from practice squad

Pittsburgh now has two open roster spots.

Bishop has 3 interceptions and 5 passes defended so .... Can I see the list?

By the way Suttons stats are old as two season ago. The neck bitter is a shamefull person,

I used Sutton 2022 stats as apples to apples in the slot.

Regarding Bishop's ints, there are INTs and there are ints.

If you want a list visit PFR.

Sutton can lock guys up in the slot, he is a much better cover guy than Bishop is. Bishop has made some big plays over the past 2 games but he has also gotten beat up.

He is a feast of famine type of player, BUT he does feast. I can deal with occasionally giving up big plays as long as he produces turnovers.

He is a rookie and one who is playing well.

I was sky high on picking him up as a rookie free agent where he led college football of PBU's and he produced a high number of INT's last year. He's doing it in the NFL as a rookie.

Three INT this year after 8 games played? Yep.

                          Last year, Sutton was toasted.

Agreed. The other thing about Bishop's limitations is it may be forcing the Steelers to play more zone than they want since Bishop is not good in man situations. I just posted elsewhere (https://www.planetsteelers.com/forum...eelers-defense) that the MOF has been open for business against the Steelers defense. They need cover guys there in a big way.

                              Two different perspectives here IMO.

If you have a moral objection to employing Sutton, I get it. However, I think we can see by the fact that the Steelers have kept him around all year that they have looked into the incident and determined that they are okay with having him on the team.

From a football perspective, it is no contest. Sutton is experienced in the system, played well enough to earn an $11M/yr deal with $22M SB. He is versatile enough to play inside or outside. The Lions completely misused him, having him follow the opposition's WR1. He is not a shutdown corner, nobody ever thought he was. Bishop has played better, and upped his game and made some plays the last few weeks, but he has been one of the weak links for most of the first 8 weeks. Let him watch a little and learn from a very cerebral player, and Bishop comes back a much better player in '25.
