I don't think our offense has demonstrated enough competence to believe that there is any game that we should be overlooking.

I know I "predicted" a higher score. But I've seen enough Steelers games to know that 15 to 12 or 12 to 9 is always a real possibility.

We simultaneously can’t beat good teams, and lose all these trap games yet somehow we win more than we lose. THEREFORE-

Search Tomlin COTY 2023, the talk started the week of the AZ game. This team is better when they feel threatened and dragged in the media, not sure they handle getting their flowers well.

Pay attention to what the players say, they usually parrot Tomlinisms during the week. In 2012 they talked about the "candy bar", rookie CB Brandon Boykin, and how the young money crew was salivating to face him, ended up losing at home to a team that went 4-12.

In 2020, Stephon Tuitt told his guys to "pad their stats" vs. the Ravens' covid depleted squad, they nearly lost to the JV team.

These types of games happen because of what happens all week in practice.

I agree that Steelers teams tend to to better in the "backs against the wall" / "circle the wagons" mode.

I think part of it is that it's easy for us to remember the terrible losses (like the ones last season). And part of it is that all NFL teams are good enough to win if things break right.

But I think this is a game we really, really want to win.

Going into the back half of the season 6-2 would be a pretty huge deal given the apparent strength of schedule we have left.

At that point, going 3-3 in the division likely gets us into the playoffs. At 5-3, I think we'd need to win at least 4 games in the division.
