Just another crash and burn to end the season. Not unexpected when you sign a player that should have retired a few years ago.

But because it's way easier to remember the ones that go against us, many fans feel like the league is out to get their team.Leave a comment:

They showed a better view on the game last night. IMHO it was a good non-call. Good job on the flop by the punter.Leave a comment:

If that happened to our punter, oh wait, it actually did and we lost him for the season.
Maybe this was the makeup call 6 games later.Leave a comment:

I always hold my breath when we're going after the blocked punt. Some refs are trigger happy with the flag.Leave a comment:

I think the broadcast team said that it looked like minimal contact and that the was blocked into the kicker.
Probably a good example of the subjectivity of the game.
Reasonable to not call it.
Also would have been reasonable to call it.
I think it's always worth remember the breaks that go our way, so we aren't just thinking about the ones that don't (like the apologies we've gotten from the league re: Minkah in the last few weeks).
What would have happened if it was a flag? Offsetting penalties? Or would the personal foul take precedence over their penalty (illegal formation?).
Obviously even offsetting penalties would have really sucked for us because it would have taken another TD off the board for a penalty (happened for both teams last night IIRC).

When Austin was running, I couldn't even get excited because I was CONVINCED that we were going to get a roughing the kicker penalty. I think Danny Smith thought the same thing. He refused to celebrate until he saw what the flags were for.Last edited by Eich; 10-29-2024, 02:38 PM.Leave a comment:

BTW, did we get a break on the PR TD by Calvin? Some are saying we roughed the kicker, others that there was no contact and a flop.Leave a comment:

Will Danny "Mad-Dog" Smith come up with some sort of strategy for the new kick-offs over the break?
Let the mad genius work.
