Is Harris a bottom 8 starting running back? I think he is.

    +1;
    I noticed that after I posted but was too lazy to edit... good add.

Instead he was just a short step away all throughout, almost there but not quite, and still better than much of what we've seen since 2021. I'd mostly written off Russ because of his age and his lack of future with the team. So far, the best I've seen out of him is his veteran leadership and composure, along with his rookie enthusiasm. So great to see this out of him.
      The thing I underestimated the most about Wilson was his ability to read defenses presnap and make adjustments. Hard to know for sure but I think he does it multiple times a game.
      (btw, those that said Roethlisberger wasn't allowed to audible are blowing smoke. How come they are letting Wilson do it so liberally?)

          • Man, that is a lot of wins. Yet in those years we failed to win a playoff game! A complete waste of talent and reason #1 why you boy should be 86'd,
          Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

          Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

            It's time to win a playoff game. Tomlin has all the pieces. A very good D. A veteran QB with command of the offense. Some capable running backs. A wr group that he says he believes in.

            As interesting and fun and exciting as the season has been to this point, it'll be quite a letdown if we don't at least play a VERY competitive playoff game.

              I told anyone willing to listen that Najee is not that answer. In past SIX games he only averaged better than four yards a carry once vs. the soft Cincinnati defense. The other five games he was 3.5 yards a carry or below that mark.

              The 2024 NFL season stats per game for Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers on ESPN. Includes full stats, per opponent, for regular and postseason.

                Both defenses were focused on run stopping. The Steelers were moderately successful as PHI averaged only 3.1 yds/att. The PHI defense held the Steelers to 3.3 yds/att. The difference was Hurts could pass at will for the most part. Secondary was not good yesterday. And I'll continue to harp about Fitz and his terrible season. Too frequently caught nowhere near the ball. The TD to Brown against Jackson was just another example. Fitz protecting on a run that wasn't needed and was out of position to help on the pass.

                  TJ’s punch out came on a play where we only had 10 on the field, too. Vet defense, same coaches, same problems every year. I wonder if the D is too complex, guys get confused and miscommunicate too much.

                    That "fumble" in the 3rd by Harris reminded me of the Mendenhall fumble in the Super Bowl. Just a critical turnover at a critical time that just took all the wind out of our sails. But at least Mendenhall's was forced. This one was just a loss of focus and attention to detail on a simple and perfect toss.
