    QB class 2025

I will be closely monterting this future NFL class. There are a lot of guys who can play well...LOTS.

Several of which have grade A arms. It is too early to say who is the best ( I like Beck, Sanders, and Allar ) but I will say this, the DEPTH at the position is excellent.
There appears to be as many as 10 day one and day two QB's. I spent Saturday watching several of them. With the new college playoff system, 12 teams will be making the playoffs.

There are still the beat down games we have to suffer through, but with the playoff games , we will get a better look at the QB's.

Also Nick Saban is awesome as a media guy.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

    Early thoughts.

LSU's QB Nussmeier is for real. He has a very good arm, processes things quickly and has good accuracy. Plus his Dad was a former NFL QB. I was very impressed.

UG's Beck looks like the first Qb in 2025 taken. A top prospect for sure. He is bright and has an NFL future.

Sanders sure light's up a weak conference, How will he play vs . a Big Ten or SEC team? Stay tuned.

I don't see Ewers hype QB. Now he is clearly good, but not that good.

Allar has a great arm. And finally has some skill players to work with. But he is still developing his game. He needs to show me quailty play action and more of vertical game, which he did in his first game of 2024 vs a good SEC or Big 10 team

I need to see USC's QB again. Is Moss that good?

Alabama's QB, Milroe is good, but not great. Something is missing from his game.

Another week is in the books. All I can say is this is a good QB class . It looks like it has 4 or more first round picks. We saw the strong beating the weak. Mismatches. This is a flaw of college football, but I get why they make these matches as the powerful team pays for the weaker teams season in general.

These QBs have mostly good coordinations and head coaches. They don't play the game to get hurt...A.K.A. Run around a lot and try to gain yards on the ground.

I am impressed with several guys arm, velocity, ball placement, release, and QB smarts.

Here is a quick rundown of the best.

Beck. He carved up an overmatched opponent showing good accuracy and threw for 5 TD's. Looks NFL ready in the way he plays, but he also plays under Kirby Smart and a wealth of talent.

Sanders. I was waiting to see how he does vs. a ranked SEC or Big Ten team. A non-raked Nebraska exposed him. His stock went way down.

Miller Moss might have some game. Either that or UCS 'last QB Willimas was overrated. Watch this guy, he could be sooting up the draft boards.

PSU's Allar is making NFL highlight throws. He has a gifted arm. Color me biased towards QB's who grew up in the PA or OH region. I want to see him win a game by tossing the rock 30+ times. Allar is not well coached like many of the top prospects are ( he does not have a good offensive head coach or OC ) nor does he have any Elite skill players that will be drafted in the first two rounds.

Ewers look great caving up a good Michigan defense. The 21 year old is sort of like Baker Mayfeild. He can be a first round pick, but I do not see future NFL star qualities. But he has a good arm and is completing a high amount of mid to deep passes.

Ward pissed in a bad oppnet meaning he dominated them. I'm not sure who good this cat is, and he is a senior and playing on his 3rd team. He was turnover prone in the past and is a slow QB. But right now he is shining very bright.

Milroe. The more I see him, the more I think he is a back up in the NFL. He is solid in college.

LSU's Nussmeier threw 6 TD's last week and has completed 75% of his passes for the year. If he keeps playing like this, he will be a top ten pick. Dude has a rocket / laser arm ( both traits are rare ) , a very quick release and a high QB IQ. High character as well. He looks like a top 10 NFL pick.

Okay, there's a quick summary of the QB's. We need ONE of these guys. Coming up next I will rank the QB's long before the media does.

Others: Jackson Dart who is off to a fast start, and two under sized QB's Dillon Gabriel, and Noah Fititia.

        >>> New ranking as of 9-29-24

        1. Milroe - He had an awesome game vs. Georgia. As a passer and as a runner. Looks like a very durable player.

        2. Beck - Had a poor start and good close game vs Alabama. He threw for many yards and scored 30+ points mostely by passing.

        3. Ewers - He's hurt. A. Manning, a prized newbie, looks just as good.

        4. Moss - He is a tough and talented passer, maybe he has an average arm. A west coast style QB in play.

        5. Ward - the 6th year senior knows how to play and is a gamer.

        6. Nusmeier - Advanced passer with a real live arm. A Pocket passer and a very good one.

        7. Allar - Is not blowing me away, but he is a consistent no mistakes QB.

        8. Dart - His QBR is through the roof.

        9. Shough - He does not have the skill players the others on the list but the 6'5" a natural athelte, has a good arm. Could be a late bloomer. Hmmm...

        10. Eli Holstein - He is certainly putting up the numbers, the only man on the list I have not seen play in a game.

This college QB class can all play. I see four or five first round picks!

The top of the list dropped off overall draft prospect rankings. Wow, did it drop off a cliff. I will re-rank them after the season ends.

Yeah, they did drop. Saw most of them play (some multiple times) the past three weeks and it was not impressive. Allar may be the guy I like most, but he's a late second to mid-third with me right now. Some will get picked early based on need for QBs and passing the test in shorts, but this draft isn't much better for QBs than the one with Pickett.

Some awful play from QB prospects I liked this past weekend.

Agreed. Most players are stock down.

I would like to see Allar with better receivers. Guys drop a lot of passes at PSU and are mediocre at getting open.

The other player is IU's QB, Rourke. What would he look with better talent?

Look for this thread to be updated after the college season ends. 'Cuse QB really passes for lots of yards. IU's QB is very intriguing.
