Hines Ward DUI Video Released, Wide Receiver Was Worried ESPN Would Find it (Video)

Here's one highlight video that Hines Ward wouldn't like the world to see. No, it isn't a dropped pass or a missed block -- it's of his DUI arrest last summer. Ward was pulled over in Georgia around 2:30 a.m. on July 9, 2011. Ward, who is currently a free agent, told police at the time that he was at a club but only had two drinks. After he failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer test, he was taken to jail, according to authorities. The DUI charge was dropped in February after Ward pleaded guilty...

*** Discuss this article and more at our Pittsburgh Steelers forum ***

The Pittsburgh Steelers put a tender on wide receiver Mike Wallace on Monday. According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers will pay Wallace $ 2.7 million in 2012 and will have the chance to match any offer given to the restricted free agent. If Pittsburgh decides not to match an offer, they will get a first-round draft pick in return.
Dulac also stated that negotiations have taken place between the Steelers’ front office and Wallace’s agent, Buss Cook.
On March 6th, General Manager Kevin Colbert told www.steelers.com that keeping the Pro Bowl receiver in the Steel City is definitely in the franchise’s plan.
“We want Mike to finish his career here,” said Colbert. “That will factor into our decision. You have the same right of first refusal on any offer he gets. If he was franchised, you would have to account for a significantly higher amount under your cap, which means we would have had to cut more players. You have to weigh that against the chances you’re goi...

No Franchise Tag Placed On Steelers Wide Receiver Mike Wallace

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Steelers chose not to place their franchise tag on wide receiver Mike Wallace Monday.

In turn, teams around the NFL will have the ability to offer him contract. Wallace is a restricted free agent, and the Steelers will have the chance to match any offer made to Wallace.

Had the Steelers franchised Wallace they would have owed him $ 9.4 million next season. The Steelers will instead tender Wallace by March 13.

Teams have until April 20 to sign Wallace to an offer sheet. Pittsburgh can negotiate a contract with Wallace throughout the free agency process.

Wallace has 170 career catches for 3,195 yards and 24 touchdowns since being drafted in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss.
