Some believe it’s unfair to expect NFL teams to play on a Thursday after playing on a Sunday. But the NFL makes that process as fair as it possibly can be. Every team plays one, and only one, short-week game in 2013, with one game on a Sunday and another on a Thursday. That comes…ProFootballTalk » Pittsburgh Steelers
How did the Pittsburgh Steelers get into this situation? The usually fiscally sound organization has fallen on hard times with the salary cap. The philosophy of pushing money into the future ended with the new CBA, and the Steelers are at the front of the line for paying back it’s long due credit line….

With 32 more games in the regular season, the playoff picture is coming into focus — but in some cases that focus is blurry enough that you need to squint. PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – NFL Insider for CBS Sports, Pat Kirwan joined the Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to talk about the Steelers’ current salary cap situation.
Talking about the amount of money that the Steelers are over the salary cap, Kirwan said that the Steelers “have got a long way to go to get to zero.” Names of players he thinks the Steelers should cut were: Hines Ward, James Farrior, and Casey Hampton.
The limited cap space causes a lot of concern over wide receiver, Mike Wallace. Kirwan tells the Fan Morning Show that he has great respect for Steelers’ General Manager, Kevin Colbert, but other teams (even within the AFC North) will be trying to bring in the Pro Bowl receiver for more money on an offer sheet than the Steelers will be able to match.
We also get his thoughts on how Antonio Brown has developed, and how the relationship between the established offensive players, and new Offensive Coordinator, Todd Haley, will work.
