The Steelers have BYU defensive tackle Hebron Fangupo and Wayne State safety Jeremy Jones in for pre draft visits on Friday to close out the week according to a tweet by Steelers Digest.
Fangupo measured in at the combine at 6011 and weighed 323 pounds. He ran the 40 in 5.18 seconds to go along with a 4.62 short shuttle time. The Steelers have brought back offensive lineman Trai Essex. He announced today he has inked a deal with the black and gold.
“I am ecstatic to announce that I am back with the @Steelers ! There is no place like #SteelerNation #EverydayIsABlessing”, Essex wrote.
Essex was a third round pick (93rd overall) out of Northwestern by the Steelers back in 2005.
The 6-foot-5, 324-pound Essex has started 28 of 75 games over the last seven seasons, with 24 of those starts coming over the last three seasons.
After starting all 16 games in 2009, and missing all but four of 1,062 offensive snaps, Essex has played a reserve role the last two seasons, starting just eight of 28 games.

The Steelers have brought back WR Jerricho Cotchery, as the NY Daily News reports that Pittsburgh and Cotchery have come to terms on a two-year deal.
Last season in 13 games, Cotchery had 16 catches for 237 yards and two touchdowns, including a TD in the playoff loss to the Broncos that got tied the game in the fourth quarter.
The Jets, the team Cotchery played for from 2004-10, talked to the WR, but he decided to stay with the Steelers.
In his career, he has 374 catches for 4,751 yards and 20 TDs.

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Punter Daniel Sepulveda will not be in a Steelers uniform for the 2012 season, according to a report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The team has decided to not bring him back. Jeremy Kapinos is now the only punter on the Steelers roster.
Pittsburgh’s decision most likely stems from multiple knee injuries to Sepulveda since being drafted in the fourth round in 2007. He tore his ACL in 2008 and missed the entire season. In 2010, he missed another 12 games because of a torn ACL.
Sepulveda was placed on injured reserve last season with an injured meniscus.
Other Steelers news:
- Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson, who was badly burned in a fire Jan. 6, visited the team Wednesday and is expected to resume his duties this summer.
- Mississippi offensive tackle Bobby Massie met with the Steelers Wednesday at their Southside practice facility.

Pat Kirwan at CBS Sports kicks off the day with note about the Steelers and how they want to bring back WR Jerricho Cotchery. The former Jets WR, who played well down the stretch last season, remains on the free agent market. A market that still also has Mike Wallace on it at the WR spot, despite the fact he’s a restricted free agent.
I like what Cotchery did last season, and he could be even more valuable this year with Hines Ward gone. Add Ben Roethlisberger to the list that wants to see Cotchery back in Pittsburgh in 2012.
“Without Hines, I think you have to do everything you can to sign Jerricho back,” Roethlisberger said. “He’s not only a veteran leader in that room but a really good player. I’d love to see him come back because he’s a really good receiver and I like what he brings to the team.”
Last season Cotchery had 16 catches for 237 yards with two scores, and a catch for a 31-yard score in the AFC Wild Card game at Denver. If he does come back, and is healthy, I would expect more like the season before in NY, when he had 41 grabs for 433 yards with two scores.
