Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.
Roethlisberger was injured late in the first half of Thursday’s 14-3 win over the Cleveland Browns.
He had the ankle re-taped at halftime and played the second half, hitting Antonio Brown with a late 79-yard touchdown pass to seal the victory.
After the game, Roethlisberger said he thought he has broken the ankle. He was in a walking boot Friday.
The Steelers (10-3) are off until a Monday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 19.
Pittsburgh is battling the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC North title and also is in the running for the top overall seed in the conference.
