The World Cup is quite possibly the greatest sporting event on the planet. Unlike other sports that Americans play, like football, baseball and basketball, The Cup is truly a World sporting event. Much like the Olympics. It is watched by Americans because it's the best brand of soccer out there. It is watched by Americans because we want to see how we stack up against the best in the world. I don't understand soccer.
I also think it is painfully boring to watch, even though I only watch any of it during the World Cup, which apparently is supposed to be the most exciting soccer event there is.
As a brazilian, I always thought soccer was the most intuitive sport, guys kicking a ball trying to reach the opponents' goal post.
And about the most exciting soccer event, I don't think so, but can't blame you guys. I went to the US two times and barely saw soccer on TV (even though it was Super Bowl days in one of those), so I guess you guys don't can't watch the best leagues and championships.
To me, soccer is more fun to watch than baseball...
Also, I find it more fun to play than to watch...
I think I would really enjoy it if there were 2 or 3 less people on each team.
