Apparently you don't know that Jags games are constantly in danger of being blacked out. Then at the last minute, local companies, banks, and the team itself buy up blocs of tickets and effectively give them away to youth groups, the military (via the USO) and anyone else who wants to see an NFL game for virtually no cost (except getting themselves to the stadium). The NFL allows the team to buy tickets at 34 cents on the dollar and re-sell or give them away.

So, the Steelers use no tricks of their own to boost attendance? You really believe that one, Mad Hatter? And for the record, I don't even believe they had an avg. of 57k last year. You could readily see the stands where 30% empty many of the games.
If we are going to compare, it's important to also consider that in 2012 Jacksonville was the 12th largest city and Pittsburgh was the 61st so they have a couple of hundred thousand more to draw from each and every week.

Oh I have some more perspective to add as a bitch, for you. J-ville is the 12th largest city but for other than straight forward reasons. You should see how far the "city limits" extend to the middle of no where. When you see signs for the end or beginning of city limits, you are no where near down town. Most places don't do this. In a more accurate assessment, you would have to take actual population #s, but even those would be altered by such an overly extended city limits boundaries. J-ville has 747 sq. miles. It is the largest major city in terms of sq. miles in the entire USA. They have to do that in order to post their claimed population.

Pgh, by comparison, is 58 sq. miles. Notice anything out of place?

Ahhhhh, don't you love lies, damn lies and statistics? A 747 mile for J-ville city limits is preposterous. If J-ville had realistic city limits, you'd realize it is a much smaller (really) city than is Pgh. If you have visited both cities you'd know this was true without getting into the stat debate. It is readily obvious.
2013 - Forbes rated the Steelers the 14th most valuable team in the NFL. Jacksonville was 31st, second to last. So who cares who goes to see them, they are a piece of sh!t franchise compared to the Steelers even with a couple of hundred thousand more people in their metro area that can go watch their garbage play. And anyone who argues differently is a moron.
City limits are city limit dumb beats. Go f@ck yourself. Why are you even a fan?
Another perspective: If Pittsburgh banks, corporations like Heinz, PPG, and the many other corporations located here bought up big blocs of tickets and sold them at cut-rate prices or gave them away at schools, they'd fill the aisles...except maybe in terrible weather, which Jacksonville doesn't have to contend with. Ah yes, weather. Still another perspective, hey sick beats?
