Your the GM...Put your Money Where It Counts

    Consider:

    Since 2003 the Steelers win:

65% of games where they sack the opponent at least 1 time
70% of games where they sack the opponent at least 2 times

75% of games where they intercept at least 1 pass
81% of games where they intercept at least 2 passes
100% of games where they intercept at least 3 passes

Where should they put their draft picks?

Best player available at a position of need. Period!

If they corner themselves based on numbers they will more than likely reach for a player.

    completely agree!
Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.

Man would I love to be a mouse in the draft room. I am sure there are a ton of things that go into drafting a player. So if there are 2 players on the board at 15. One with a A- grade at position of a near FUTURE need and a B+ player who MIGHT upgrade a position now who do they take? I am sure it comes down to GM, Head coach and owner. But boy would I like to hear that discussion!

Consider further, since 2003, the Steelers win:

75% of games in which they hold the opponent under 100 yds rushing

85% of games in which they hold opponent under 100 yds rushing and intercept at least 1 pass

I'm sure since 2003 when the Steelers rush for 100 yards or pass for 350 yards etc.....meaning this could go both ways, Offense and Defense.

I do agree we need to draft D 1st though.

    You are partly correct sir.

    Since 2003, the Steelers win:

89% of games in which they out-rush their opponent by 25 or more yds. (5-0 in 2013)

Of course, this is accomplished in two ways; a strong running game, and a strong run defense.

Passing margin? not so much. They only win 60% of games when they out pass the opponent by 200 yds or more.

Yes, it's all interconnected. Having an effective passing game only makes the run game more effective. But the key component is still the run game.
