    question on Dwyer

I was thinking he had turned things around from last year. Thought maybe I'd read something that said he showed up to camp in great shape?

Not going to argue he's more valuable then Eye Sack or Felix (though if someone did, I think it would be defensible), but no better than S-Howlings?

I guess the front office just got tired of babysitting the guy.

While still young at 24, one should, at some point, develop a maturity about ones self. You know, be accountable for yourself. Tardiness and a lack of overall professionalism will only be tolerated for so long. Whether you play for the Raiders or the Steelers.

Personally, I thought Dwyer had what it took to perform at this level. I was rooting for the guy. Hope he finds himself someday.

Still think he'd be great in a two-back system with a guy named Washer.

He came to OTA's 30lbs overweight for the 3rd year in a row... Really pi$$ed off the coaches.. When he saw that REDMAN was shredded, he went to a fat camp and dropped the weight..

Poor work ethic and as mentioned, late to meetings etc..

I am shocked Dwyer got cut. I was one of his biggest critics last year. But he looked in great shape and ran hard during preseason. I think he is a considerably better back than Redman. Being that we only need someone to start until Bell is healthy I think Dwyer was worth keeping. I personally hope Jones gets more of the load than Redman.

It wasn't just a football decision. Cutting him saves the Steelers some money.

While Dwyer came in good shape this season, I thought he regressed as a runner in the preseason. Seemed like every other time he touched the ball, he was misreading his blocks and was always trying to bounce outside when he had room to run inside.

I think he might have been a victim of the new blocking scheme. He just wasn't getting it done. Add in the past conditioning issues, the fact that he's not the best pass catcher, some missed blocks, fumbles, and I can see why the Steelers went this way.

Last year he ran violently when he had the chance. This preseason he ran almost confused at times.

Agree with Flip. Even on runs when he got some good yardage, he left a lot of yards out there with bad reads and decisions. Didn't run smart. And his fumble at the end of a play was brutal. Total lack of concentration when the whistle had not blown.
