Kendrell Bell. He was awesome his rookie year.
Oh don't worry I am sure the argument will be Kendrell Bell was an inside LB'er. The great and powerful Dee Dub knows all!

But, should Kendrell Bell have played as much as he did his rookie year?

Would he have been better served over the long term by becoming assignment sound?

He WAS great his rookie year...and in a few short years was out of the league....

That had a lot more to do with his health than it did with being "assignment sound," IIRC.

If Bell didnt have plastic knee's he would have possibly been another HOF LB'er for us.......it was a shame because that is very rare to get a player like that.

Kendrell Bell is a little different becuase we had a good team and he had an impact on D.

Jarvis is getting playing time on a D that is playing bad football right now and his contribution has been minimal.

Coming back around to the point of the post. Who do you see at Alabama RIGHT NOW, that you'd want? Personally, I'd consider an ILB or a NT, but neither in the first round. I think we may play ourselves out of a stud LT but will still be too high to address the needs we have on the defensive side of the ball. I think we'll end up in that spot where if someone doesn't fall, we're screwed.

Well, that is what I as talking about. The OLB position in a 3-4 for the Steelers. So how does the fact that Bell played inside relate to what I said about the history of Steeler OLB's in their 3-4?

And I would think you of all people, would know that it is a lot easier to make the transition form 4-3 MLB to Buck ILB in a 3-4 than it is for an 4-3 DE tweener to go to a 3-4 OLB.

And then back to my whole point. How it is easiest for a college 3-4 OLB, like a Jarvis Jones, to make the transition to a pro 3-4 OLB. And that LeBeua's 3-4 isnt all that complex that one of these players couldn't grasp it. And then to my last point, how Nick Saban's 3-4 is just as complex as that of LeBeau.

Wow!! In a round about way, SKL, you just proved all my points. Thank you.
