Nice Job JOE, way to fill your ego cuz I think you just won your only Superbowl.
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...!!!
No it wont... I was a little shocked to see Flacco win a SB and Denver definitely helped him out but they will do what every team does in a few years. Restructure his contract to free up room. Ed Reed is on the back end and will probably play one or 2 more seasons. Boldin will probably retire soon. Thry have a young RB who filled in nicely when Rice started fumbling.
Hoping for a cap nightmare isnt the best strategy IMO. Ravens really had no choice and they have been pretty successful with flacco so they had to back up the brinks.
Ben has 3 years left on his contract, and these cap hit numbers are getting outrageous for QBs now, especially after a career average QB can have 1 great playoff run and screw everything else up even more.
The Steelers better find a young replacement for Ben in the next couple years.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
I think Flacco's WR's did a tremendous job in that playoff run. Flacco seemed to just be throwing it up for grabs at times. Throw in an OL gelling at the right time with Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce running the ball and it all fell into place for them.
All that tells me we need better offensive line depth, better RB's, and more physical WR's. Plus, we won't even have Heath. Our offense needs major work or Ben's final years will be wasted.
