So now win rates matter but not for EDGE rushers? You guys need to pick a lane, you can't just decide the only PFF metrics that count are the ones that bathe the Steelers in a positive light.

All I know is folks were trashing Adams right before he forced a fumble.

I think sometimes we focus on a guy and blame him for everything when in fact, he may not be the main reason.

That long run by Cleveland. That was on Wallace. Also watched us stretch a guy 5 yards in the backfield, 2 missed tackles and he runs up the sideline for a 9 yard gain.

McCaffrey’s run? Another one off tackle and I still don’t know why Watt stopped on backside pursuit. But that wasn’t on Adams either IMO.

Wallace gets an F for sure on that play, but he isn't responsible for everyone else who lost gap discipline.

but he was responsible for containment. Not sure its really gap discipline when you reverse field like that and beat the DB outside.

As soon as he cut back I knew it was over.. smh

Pause at 0:03. Everyone lost their gap discipline and chased the ball like rookies in their first game.

that's gap discipline... he has the outside contain - he came in and made it NOT a gap, but a gaping hole

I thought Adam’s held his own against the stains. Saw being disruptive and from time to time in the backfield. Watson is a strong guy and tough to bring down. He’s slippery back there as well.

No, the Steeler defenders guided his hand to their face mask.

Take a look. This right here is a layup tackle for 90% of the CBs in the league against a 2nd string RB:

Who said win rate doesn?t matter? We are saying that it does not by itself make one THE BEST DEFENDER ON THE FIELD.

Pff grades him at 59 on the season, far below the nineties they have graded ELITE interior defenders to date.

This thread is about win rate making someone reconsider whether he is a scrub worthy of the bench. That is a perfectly reasonable use of this stat.

I assure you that if Adams was rated in the 90s simply due to win rate it would be equally ridiculous to everybody.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

It was. There were also 5-6 other guys who lost gap discipline.
