    Colleges Tomlin Loves

    Here's the most frequent draft picks by college from Tomlin's drafts;

    6 - Ohio State
    5 - Maryland, Penn State, Wisconsin
    4 - Georgia, Florida, Miami (FL), Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M

    It's interesting how college programs fade in and out over the years. Wisconsin is climbing the ladder in the last handful of drafts starting with Urbik, then Watt, Loudermilk, Herbig, and Benton. But clearly Tomlin loves himself some Buckeyes. And the 'Maryland connection' does appear to be something real.

    Georgia is obvious lately. OSU is the best regional team.

    I think Wisconsin is most interesting because they they basically run our defense. A dominant player in their system will tend to be a better fit on our defense than most.

    In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
    The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

    I would have guessed Michigan would have been at the top.

    Good point on Wisconsin with Urbik being the only offensive player. And Georgia just the opposite, with Jones the lone defensive pick.

    25 from the Big Ten, which plays the style of football he longs for.

    Or maybe Smith? Any wonder with multiple options he chose US? Tomlin has been drafting for a Smith offense his whole career.

    But nooo Tomlin didn’t want him.
