OK, but then why did they not either

    a) run a scheme that fit the players they had
    or
    b) bring in the players that fit the scheme they wanted to run

why did they waste several seasons trying to pound square pegs into round holes?

    Dotson, yes.

Green played in 4 games with 3 starts. Not quite better.
    Because of injury IIRC.

New OC, new QB, new scheme. It was the right time to make the change and Chuks and Dotson got caught up in the transition. Green? That was a simple 'blew it' draft pick. He won't amount to anything more than a backup.

Still doesn't matter. Can't say he did anything if he didn't play, whatever the reason. Lumping him with a pro-bowler doesn't tell the same story.

Sorry for the lack of detail. I was agreeing with you.

My understanding was that Green was a backup and that he only got playing time because someone else got hurt.

Green was a total bust. Sometimes a team misses. He flat out sucked at center and then was a healthy scratch for an entire season. That’s not on coaching. That’s lack of ability.

YES. Tomlin is a dunce. We are stuck with him for one more year.

BUT now we have the players at the Offensive Line to offer POWER Running or Zone blocking / pulling type of plays .

If I were coaching the Steelers, I'd list Troy F and Frazier as the starters on day one of camp, and give McCormick a chance to start at guard. All three men are stronger and faster than the Turds we started last year at RT, and C . And McCormick tested off the charts at the combine. I am very intrigued with the small school " jackrabbit "

All signs point to Warren having a pro bowl year.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

Chuks was the 33rd highest paid tackle in the league last season. If there are 64 starting tackles, that would put him almost in the middle. This is about exactly where his play was. Not a bad pass blocker but a below average run blocker. And by the Steelers drafting Jones, they were clearly interested in an upgrade at the position. Chuks wasn't a good enough fit for the Smith offense to consider paying him to stay around.

pretty sure Chuks was gone regardless of who the OC was going to be.
I lost a bet about Najee gaining 1300 yards.

"Our head coach has failed to win a playoff game for seven years in a row. His game day strategy, culture of divas, in game decisions, clock management, player evaluation, hires, and affinity with sub par starters at RB, P, and OL are holding the Steelers back. That standard remains the standard"

Like Moore, the ceiling for these guys is not high. Even if those guys hit their highest expectations, it is nowhere close to what we can reasonable expect from Jones and Fautanu.
