This Is the Season It May Finally Happen

.....Warren and Harris on the field at the same time in Smith's offense:

My guess (I didn't really watch his previous teams) is that one of those 2 RBs is a FB.

IMO the future growth will be in the 3 WR, set with 1 Back and 2 TE's . This formation can tough on defenses to pressure the QB, especially for the " wide 9 " pressure guys. One of the 2 TE's all be a hybrid FB/TE.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

I said it before I SOOO want to see Najee and Warren TOGETHER.

While historically it may have included a FB we happen to have TWO backs who are excellent blockers. They BOTH are good receivers.

I really think this lends perfectly with Smiths overall philosophy of loving to pass from what appears to be run heavy sets.

I will call it now (especially if we don’t get a real receiver). We WILL do this. It is just too perfect for his philosophy.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

    6 skill players? Regularly?

So are you sacrificing a lineman or playing 12 on offense on the regular?

Seems kind of a predictable lineup that is lightweight featuring quick passing as you wont run out of it and you cant go deep.

One would have to block for the other. They aren't that type of running back. Najee and Warren are traditional Tailbacks. In olden days Tailbacks ran behind FBS. If we use 2 RBS it will be with a big RB who blocks.

I have a better idea: 7. Skill. Players.

Dude Najee is a big back who runs. We’ve seen his power. He is an excellent blocker. Open your mind. Be creative.

Just pretend he can’t run and he is just a slow powerful bruiser.
    Just pretend to be Joel?

WHY CANT HE block for Warren?

And even being small, Warren legendarily was impressive in blocking Watt.

Dont forget in this scenario the back is replacing A RECEIVER as a blocker.

Forget traditional thinking, we have a unique set of backs that can do this.

I think Smiths outside the box thinking WILL make this a reality.
