The second pick made the first pick very, very good. Had they selected a WR, DT or CB probably good choices but the first pick would have been a head scratcher now the first pick looks fantastic.

To quote the legendary Martin Payne… Woo wooo wooo woooo!!!
I lost a bet about Najee gaining 1300 yards.

"Our head coach has failed to win a playoff game for seven years in a row. His game day strategy, culture of divas, in game decisions, clock management, player evaluation, hires, and affinity with sub par starters at RB, P, and OL are holding the Steelers back. That standard remains the standard"

Pittsburgh Steelers: Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia A Grade

There aren't that many talented centers in this class, but the Steelers were able to land one of them in the middle of the second round. Zach Frazier is someone I've seen discussed as a possibility late in the opening round, so I definitely like this value. Frazier fits an obvious huge need at center.

Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.

    And I'm a fan.
This is why I think it is more than happenstance. I read somewhere that a core difference between him and KC is that Khan scouts OTHER TEAMS needs more than Colbert did.

So he takes educated guesses at who is likely to fall so he does not reach.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

But I think that this was the intention all along.

Well, I think we can put the "Fautanu to Center" nonsense to bed now.

It really was not an option to move Fautanu to Center. He will be tried at right tackle first, an if he lacks the feet, move him to guard.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
