But all of the things I listed allowed for that -- if SF and Cle can beat a well-schemed offense, what do you think they'd do to a vanilla one?

Agree with scrapping zone blocking, why did it take so long? Same thing happened last year -- who is pushing that? What happened to red paint, paint barn red?

Someone is trying to squeeze a square peg into a round hole on offense.

No idea why we keep trying to run zone blocking. Clearly it doesn’t work with these players.

When I saw this first on twitter, I said that this was a Steelers Rorschach test. It really is nothing, but everybody will read into it based on how they already feel.

I’m saying it reads funny. Steelers “promote” OC by having him work closer with the QB.

Now tell me if any other team had that headline with their OC and QB would we scratch our head at that announcement?

“Beinemy gets promotion, the OC will work more closely with Sam Howell”

how does an OC get a promotion by simply working more with the QB? That doesn’t even make sense. An OC is supposed to work closely with a QB if they are struggling.

I think its just the press trying to stir things or the Steelers poking fun at the papers.

Or is this an indirect way to say someone else is more involved with the gameplanning, i.e. if you are spending time with the QB it's less time on the gameplan.

Last night's game says the extra attention at least got the offense off the scrap pile.

Rumor is that it was a Canada rep that leaked the story. If so, he's giving himself a vote of confidence. It's not the HC.

Maybe people overreacted to the Niners because they played the Steelers. The Rams got 386 yards and 23 points on them the following week, without Cooper Kupp.

well the Niners have beat the Rams 9 straight times in the regular season.

but I’m never surprised when a division foe plays well against a rival.

Tomlin was asked today in his PC whether Matt Canada had any 'change in status' with the offense or QB.

                          "No" - Mike Tomlin

Makes me wonder again, then, if this was just Tomlin butting out and letting him do what a normal OC does.

As long as the Steelers look good against bad teams then everything is ok in the Burgh!

It's interesting to me to see how advanced the defense can be, yet the offense is so rudimentary.
