People overreacted after playing 2 really good defenses.

But all of the things I listed allowed for that -- if SF and Cle can beat a well-schemed offense, what do you think they'd do to a vanilla one?

No idea why we keep trying to run zone blocking. Clearly it doesn’t work with these players.

I’m saying it reads funny. Steelers “promote” OC by having him work closer with the QB.

Now tell me if any other team had that headline with their OC and QB would we scratch our head at that announcement?

how does an OC get a promotion by simply working more with the QB? That doesn’t even make sense. An OC is supposed to work closely with a QB if they are struggling.

I think its just the press trying to stir things or the Steelers poking fun at the papers.

It's a bizarre storyline you could take several ways. Is Pickett really that bad that he needs extra tutoring by Canada? I hope not. Is this a Tomlin vote of confidence? Or is it a last chance to make the offense respectable before a change at the bye? Or is this an indirect way to say someone else is more involved with the gameplanning, i.e. if you are spending time with the QB it's less time on the gameplan.

Last night's game says the extra attention at least got the offense off the scrap pile.

Maybe people overreacted to the Niners because they played the Steelers. The Rams got 386 yards and 23 points on them the following week, without Cooper Kupp.

It's interesting to me to see how advanced the defense can be, yet the offense is so rudimentary.
