I understand that. But the worrisome part is he doesn't look incrementally better. In fact, he looks worse than even last season. Last season he had the advantage of being new with little tape on his game. Teams have had an off season to study their upcoming opponents and especially the QBs they will face. One could argue the book has already been written on KP. Clog the box, apply pressure.
At this point he might be good enough to beat half the defenses in the league. But asking him to carry the offense against the other half isn't looking so promising.
