Or is it going to ballon up again? The NFL allows fair catches on kickoffs now, placing the ball at the 25 yard line. A horrbile rule. What will they legeslate out next the national anthem?

The Steelers had a great draft in 2023. However better play calling / coaching is badly needed. Tomlin is 19-18-1 in last 38 games played and hasn't won a playoff game in six years and counting. Nor has hired anyone good to his coaching staff. Think about that. But Khan and Weidl appear to have better management on the salary cap and focused on the right free agents and draft needs.
Why is it a horrible rule?
They keep diminishing the special teams aspect of the sport almost every year.
College started doing this a few years ago. No issue with it, teams can still choose to return it if they want. I think if you drop the fair catch you spot the ball at that point if its recovered by the return team.

There’s were 12 votes against it the day before it got approved. Goodell did his best to change 4 of the votes.
Read that it’s approved for this year and then they’ll take a look at it.
hopefully it changes back next year
Terrible podcast was wondering if teams will kick very high and short. Try to force teams to fair catch and move back to the 25 or try a return on a play which probably has a high risk of fumbling.
Good news is that I think it's only a one year trial with this rule. We can hope it won't be permanent.
