    5 Years..........260 mil with 185 mil guranteed.
From the 2011-2022 season,(A 12 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

No worries. Ben said that no one fears Lamar sitting back in the pocket and picking your defense apart with his arm.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

I still think his target was Deshaun Watson.

Hahaahhahaahaha. It's outstanding. Take up all that cap space and inhibit the team from doing significant things in other areas. The torture continues. Now lets see how many good players they can now hold on to around him.

I'm guessing that extension means: this year is the same year 5 salary as if they had kept him... but, year 6 (next offseason) is where they begin to have problems.

More than I thought they'd give him. Hope they regret every dime!

Extension usually means 5 years after the current year.

But they are also usually signed when someone has a year left on their contract.

In Lamar's case, I think he would have had to play on the tag this year if he played without an extension.

So, I would think that this would be the next 5 NFL seasons (not 6).

    When else would it start?

It is a five-year deal for Jackson, who will be under contract with the team through the 2027 season now.

Will be interesting to see how the payment schedule looks.

Joel Corry has been saying for over a year that Lamar wouldn't be able to get fully guaranteed, but that he should use the concession of full guarantees to get a favorable payout schedule where more of the total money in the contract comes to him in the first half than the second half. Apparently the Rats gave their TE a very favorable payout schedule while putting him near the top of the market. Corry said that Lamar should argue that if they were willing to do that for the TE, they should do it for the QB too.

Will be interesting to see the particulars.
