Well, no questioning how Ben feels on the subject. Rooneys = cheap in FA.

AKA, Ben we were “cheap” because ALL OUR CAP MONEY paid YOU and your friends.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

    Rooney Reply:
Ya know Ben, were it not for the 267.2 million WE PAID YOU just maybe we could have signed more free agents. We would have been happy to sign the free agents of your choosing if you let us channel some of your salary their way.

Having retired THE THIRD HIGHEST PAID PLAYET IN NFL HISTORY your job is not to question how the team spends money. Your mouth needs to be saying. “Thank you Mr Rooney sir”.

They've let several of their own walk the last few years.

They spend right up to the cap every year, don't they?

I wouldn't call them "cheap" regarding what they spend on players ... my disagreements are more about who is payed what
    2023 Mock Draft 2.0

    1) Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
    2) Deontae Banks, CB, Maryland
2b) John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota
    3) Keeanu Benton, DL, Wisconsin
    4) Nick "Cutsie Bro" Herbig, LB, Wisconsin

Exactly ... not sure how a team who's constantly adjusting contracts to be below the cap is "cheap"
When they have that guy who's pivotal...they pay him.
    Right now that's TJ WATT
    Before that it was Ben.

They have paid players extremely well over the years. they prefer to pay their own vrs spending massive amounts in free agency. Cheap is not the correct word to use.

I agree with this. Kinda low-class for Ben to make this kind of comment to the owners who made him stupid rich.

In two other threads, people asked what the "Steeler way" is, and I've always thought that one of those things was to mostly build through the draft. And I think it's a solid strategy.
