Watched NFL on ESPN: Will Levi

I mean, the kids has a big arm....so? The list of failed QBs with big arms in the NFL is long, I mean, really long.

It doesn't matter to me much, just hope one of the teams in top 16 draft him. Other than that, I don't know what all the fuss is about the kid. 19 TDs, 10 int, yawn. What's so special about the guy? Even in the rehearsed pro day passing exercise, he threw some crap passes.

    Look at this list.

Never heard of most of these QBs with "the strongest arms." Of course, one is Mahomes, check there. One is Mason Rudolph...ahhh, yea. One is Watson. OK. One is Dobbs. Kizer was a complete bust (Browns). Rosen? Garbage.

So, Levi has a strong arm? OK, clap your hands and jump for joy, he got a clean bill of health from doctor McCoy!

It’s like n baseball if a guy can throw 90-95 MPH.
scouts will drool over them thinking they can fix the mechanics or whatever else .

    Josh Allen last college season
    16 TDs 6 picks, 56 percent.

I watched from the stands Brett Rypen outplay him by a mile. I thought people who were raving about Allen as a future NFL star based on nothing but raw talent were insane.

Dude I said the EXACT SAME THING ON THIS FORUM that you are saying about this kid about Allen.

I have since learned to stop questioning people who's career is evaluating college talent.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

The vast majority of drafted QBs are busts, I think it's OK to question them.

That may be all true (ripping on Allen in here only to see him excel) but I still say most of the "strong armed" QBs drool over end up not doing squat. I listed the QBs with the strongest arms from 2016 - most did nothing. Levi may or may not do something in the NFL - I'm just not seeing it.

It's all a crap shoot. Do you have the proper people in place who can actually groom a QB? Is the kid coachable? Are his flaws fixable? So many variables.
From the 2010-2022 season,(A 13 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

one player excelling is all that’s needed to justify drafting someone else?

    That makes sense.

My opinion on Allen was rather good because he really had a good arm, was semi mobile, big , and durable. He tested out well on the wonderlic ( 37 so I knew he was smart ) If he had better talent around him he would do statically better. I think his coaching in college was average.

Levis is no Josh Allen! He does not have a wow arm, isn't as big, is not as mobile ect... But he did show and arm, played average to good in the SEC and is bright. This entire QB class this year he has some warts their game. In his case I think they are fixable. I think. I have a top 15 grade on him. His much hyped SEC counterpart is a terrible passer. That is Richardson. But there is one QB who leads the SEC in completion%, is 2nd in yards per attempt , is a tough bugger to sack and leads the SEC with lowest attempt per sack, and is the passing yardage king. Who is this guy? A player I have a second round grade on currently. He worked out well at the combine showing a good mph on the ball, elite quickness ( shuttle time ) and good top end speed. He is not big but he durable, showed his toughness, and has big hands.

Who is this masked man? This qb class has unusual depth to it. That's it strength I think.

The Steelers had a great draft in 2023. However better play calling / coaching is badly needed. Tomlin is 19-18-1 in last 38 games played and hasn't won a playoff game in six years and counting. Nor has hired anyone good to his coaching staff. Think about that. But Khan and Weidl appear to have better management on the salary cap and focused on the right free agents and draft needs.

    You are correct.
Most QBs PERIOD don’t do Jack in the pros.

    As to your 2016 list….

    Plenty of misses? Sure.

What do you expect, the majority of SIXTEEN QBs from ONE DRAFT are gonna excel?

How does a list that includes THE TWO MOST SUCCESSFUL QBs of that draft make YOUR point?

    Self explanatory, I thought.
