I think he's probably about what a reasonable expectation for a late 1st round would be.

Solid, but not spectacular. Consistent starter, but not probowl or all pro.

You want to hit on guys better than this (like we did with Watt). But my guess is that at least half of 28th OA picks do worse than TE.

This is why I hate the "he was a 1st round pick" tag. The difference in value from 1.1 to 1.32 is probably similar to the difference in value from 1.32 to the end of the draft. It's not reasonable to compare a top 5 pick to the last few picks of the 1st round.

If the argument is "he's not Troy", I think we all agree.

But I don't think anyone will ever be like Troy again. At least not in my lifetime.

Where did we draft Chris hope? 3rd round.

About the sane type of production.

Unfortunately, that’s were edmunds should have been drafted.
also I bet he wouldn’t be pricing himself off the Steelers right now either if was selected there.

Yep. Sometimes the worth of a player is clear when they are not playing.

I am sure that is what the Steelers offered and probably for less money. Edmunds probably wanted a multiyear deal but no one was biting.

Agreed. Just a year ago some of us were foolish enough to use silly “counting stats” (122 tackles) over the geniuses at pff whose metrics gave Edmonds a higher pff score than Minkah in 2021.

How time has proved those “counting stats” wrong.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Nah, I respectfully disagree. They are kinda the opposite. FF uses the “counting stats” that pff proponents despise.

I would suggest that the intent has merit, counting stats CAN be a result of factors that do not reflect 100 percent how well someone in actually playing.

However, they overcompensate in a way that misses some real meaning in counting stats.

Eagles signed S Terrell Edmunds, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year contract.

Edmunds is likely to take over the role vacated by C.J. Gardner-Johnson after he left for the Lions on a one-year contract. A former first-round pick by the Steelers in 2018, Edmunds has appeared in 15 or more games through his first five seasons in the league but has struggled at times in pass coverage. He allowed a career-high four receiving touchdowns last season while opposing receivers have converted 67.2 percent of their targets into receptions when facing him.
    RELATED: Philadelphia Eagles
From the 2010-2022 season,(A 13 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's
