Watched quite a few of Richardson's games and he is very inconsistent

He played well vs Tennessee.

I forget what game it was but I turned and saw this huge RB take off on a 60 yard run. On the replay it was actually Richardson the QB. Dude is a load.

The problem is almost every time I watched him before or after that Tennessee game he was awful.

and Levis, not sure if it was NC but someone floated his name and 2 weeks later he was the talk of ESPN and being hyped up. I watched 3 games and it was the same thing. Dude was awful. I know his OL was suspect but they rarely threw the ball which was weird since the story is Penn State didn’t let him throw. They showed him throwing darts in highlights but 3 games and he showed nothing but bad decisions and INT’s.

Do you understand what “this years Malik Willis means?

That means he is being hyped for his athleticism but is still a project. It doesn’t mean he has the same measurables.

For what it’s worth, Ryan Leaf would probably get taken ahead of all the QBs in this year’s draft class too.

We can all easily compare the things that are measurable and slot a guy in according to those measurables.

But we can’t easily grade and rank the intangibles which are the things that make up 99% of the eventual success or failure of a QB so long as he meets a minimum reasonable athletic threshold which all of these guys do.

A big armed QB becoming the next Pat M is about as likely as an average armed QB becoming the next Tom B.

Whatever it is, I think we need to find the guys with the intangibles and the info we as fans generally aren’t that privy to like the teams are. They’re all likely going to have better guesses than us or any draft pundit.

Re: the intangibles, I’m not sure how to compare KP to the others, but I know for a fact no other QB was on his trajectory from being a crumby run of the mill college QB to legit competing for the Heisman.

His ascent is way steeper than any other QB and as a fan, I think that’s what we need to bet on and hope for.

Im expecting year 2 to be a legit run at a SuperBowl in Pittsburgh until proven wrong.

I’m giving Kenny 3 years to reach a SB.

I think fans who watch college teams have a better idea of what these QB’s can be.

and I don’t mean watching a bowl game, I mean watching a season or 2 of a QB to see the ups and downs.

I can’t remember fans freaking out when the offense was basic for Duck?
Why would it be any different for KP. Let him learn. Be a ball control offense? Was this team or the yr of Duck/Mason really going to do any better then .500 or one and done in the playoffs. KP continued to improve but did not light it up. Even Rookie Big Ben did not go to the promised land.

Also the QB’s will always be over drafted. KP probably was. It’s the nature of the beast.
Also I always wonder and I believe makes it hard to evaluate the Collage QB is the quality of the teams and the opponents. Say a Alabama QB has a NFL lite o line and probably WR’s. So many QB’s are overvalued with stats or measurables. Some even underrated.
