Lamar has set the Ravens back. He has a fully stocked team spinning it's wheels and it's been so for almost 5 years. An organization fascinated with the run first QB theory that has yet to produce one super bowl winner ever.

The Ravens arent a fully stocked team and Jackson isnt a run first QB. Hell the only reason the Ravens are good right now is because of Jackson. You got to see what happened with and without Jackson, they are contenders with Jackson and not even close without him.

But that is happening because he is really good, not because he sucks.

yeah. They were giving it to the bengals in the playoffs AT Cincinnati before a critical mistake.

To me, the question about Jackson isn't "is he good now?".

I think there are 2 questions:
1) How many games per year to you expect him to miss with his style of play?
2) How quickly will his style of play decline as he ages?

They are similar questions that we had to ask about Ben (for different reasons).

As a Louisville alum, I wished the best for him, but didn't want him as a steeler. In his MVP season, the guy proved me wrong. I'm really not sure whey this is even a discussion a this point.

• He had a 113.3 passer rating (the average passer rating for MVP's is 107.
• He lead the league in TD passes
• He had 7 more rushing TD
• He rushed for over 1200 yards

Now, I'm not saying the guy is some cerebral QB like a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, who is gonna stand back in the pocket and dissect a defense. He's certainly NOT the traditional QB.

But, in the same way we're admiring Josh Allen for being able to both run and pass, this guy is VERY good. He may be a little more run and a little less pass than Allen, but he has a skillset that is capable of making a team a contender for many years.

I guess I'm trying to understand how on one hand people criticize one guy for not being mobile enough, but turn around and criticize Jackson for being TOO mobile.

Seems to me that there is no longer a "mold" for how most positions in the league are. There are simply guys who can get the job done, and guys who cannot.

I remember your insistence that Lamar would not be an accurate passer in the NFL.

Good to see normal people admit when they were wrong on something. Its really not that hard and life is much easier when you are honest instead of dip diving and twisting logic to hold onto a point long after its over.

Pretty much the same reason... "this guy's style of play will subject him to a lot of punishment that impacts his career"

I think as with any guy in the league, they get smarter with time and where they may lose a step, the IQ has increased and therefore they react quicker and make better decisions.

Randall Cunningham was significantly different in his style of play later in his career.
Mike Vick was still *fast* very late into his career, relative to what a QB typically is

The only question is the same thing you get with every player in the league - will injuries stifle his career. Whether it's Shazier or Sean Spence or Andrew Luck, that can happen to anyone in the league.
