Here is the facts. I’ve been here from 2008 and I know how the other side thinks.

They need to win ONE more playoff game than they actually win. No matter when they lose in the playoffs, if they won just ONE MORE GAME it would have been entirely different.

Winning the SB is the only way to quiet the Tomlin rage which would last until our first loss after winning the SB.

    Fact

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Vegas picks steelers last in AFCN.

CBS says steelers not even in top ten and below Cleveland.

All this with a HOF coach

Not the first time he was “predicted” to be 4th. Problem for those of you who are itching to fire him…. it never actually happens.

Predicted 4th in the division mean something about HOF?

We have TWO hall of fame coaches who have finished 4th in the division. Names are Noll and Cowher.

Our current coach? Not once and not gonna happen next year. We just hit bottom and the elevator says “up”.
Don’t care what Vegas says they NEVER call it right with Tomlin.

Tomlins record with Vegas? You take the over every time and you win 2 to 1.

Steelers beat Vegas predictions for Tomlin 11 times.

So rejoice in Vegas who predicted 7 wins LAST SEASON.

Tomlin will get at least 10 to 12 win, and go to the playoff and you will wonder why pundits who think our team would be cellar dwellers rave about Tomlin- YET AGAIN.

I think people would probably take that considering it's only happened once in the last five seasons. The Steelers have failed to win 10 games since the NFL expanded the season to 17.

It would be nice if “you” did that. But I’ve seen what “most” who tend negative do. Goal posts move every time.

This is neither a guess, nor speculation.

    Look at the forum history.

And is he gonna WIN while in the playoffs? Just curious. He hasn't in 6 years, you know?

Except you and I both know that if we did win, it would only be because of Weidl's players (not sure if Kahn would get the credit either).

It's almost like players (particularly QBs) are more important than coaches.

It's pretty reasonable to think we have the 4th best QB in the division IMO. I hope it doesn't turn out that way. But even at best, I think 3rd is the highest we could rank KP given the data we have. And that's assuming that Watson doesn't look better after what has to be one of the worst offseason situations ever (ignoring the huge payday obviously).

Honestly, that's what *I* personally need to feel inspired this coming season is a playoff birth - even with a 1st round loss, I *should* be content because I would expected it to be a wildcard birth facing the Bills/Chiefs. Not to say that I'll be happy about the loss, but I'll be content with the progress

With Ben's retiring, I saw a 3-year plan as "best case" and reason to still think Tomlin was the guy.

    • Year 1 - at or below .500
    • Year 2 - low-end wildcard team around 10-7
    • Year 3 - 12+ win contender

That KP came in Year 1 to a team that was well below .500 and got them almost in the dance was slightly ahead of schedule. Barring major injuries, not making the playoffs in year 2 would be considered regression to me.
