I think the nickel secondary is the key to success, with PP getting help from a safety. A sneaky draft pick like Branch at #32 would be ideal. He has versatility as a safety or nickel CB in the slot. Some sites are comparing him to Fitz. Imagine two of them trolling the secondary.
I see Branch as the "wildcard" pick that no one is talking about but could do lots of things in the secondary...especially with how often we play nickel. If we don't get Edmunds back, then I think he is definitely in play with one of our first two picks. However, looking at Weidl's history...I think OL or DL are high probabilities at #17

I'm guessing maybe since that didn't happen last year, he didn't even have them as a consideration this year. Per his own words, the offer came from left field and he didn't even mention them as a possibility. Money talks, and he signed.
