    Is This a Record?

49ers get 7 compensatory picks!! Yikes!!! 7??? They get a whole additional draft!! While we struggle to get one most years, these guys are working the system.

From the 2010-2022 season,(A 13 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

We should hire more minorities and promote them to other teams so we can sell them for picks later.

That doesn't feel dirty at all, good job, NFL.

Honestly, if you ask the vast majority of minorities, none want to be hired *because* they are minorities. They just don't want to be excluded because they are minorities.

I've said over and over, Jerry Jones has *his* business and he's going to hire who he wants to hire... So, the natural struggle is how do you make someone simply *look* at a population that they've traditionally ignored.

I don't know if the Rooney rule as it stands is the *right* answer (or any of the other minority rules). But, I can understand where the work is coming from and I wouldn't want to be the one in charge of solving it.

It's not. What your saying is correct. These are old men , stuck in their old ways. They are going to do what they've been doing all their lives. Weather we like it or not. They will put up appearances to make it look like their complying to the Rooney rule, but for the most part, it's a shame. And those guys are going to hire who they want to hire regardless.

That's why Jim Caldwell came out 3 weeks ago and said he's not doing anymore interviews. It's a frustrating waste of time for him. His resume pretty much speaks for itself on what he can and can't do as a Head coach and a coordinator. I agree with him. Hopefully younger owners (like who's about to buy the Commanders ) who come into the league will bring a less bigoted view to the league which will allow people who are qualified to be hired; regardless of race.

    Hell yeah.. WE SHOULD!

Did it feel dirty all these years white coaches were hiring their family members and putting them on staff when they weren’t qualified?

Look up Pete Caroll’s son’s and all the gigs daddy got them to jump start their careers.

Maybe if more people spoke up 20 and 30
years ago and made a stink we wouldn’t have incentives for QUALIFIED CANDIDATES to get hired like all these coaches who just happen to be related to head coaches. Maybe if more felt like the nepotism felt dirty we wouldn’t be were we are in 2023?

    Just sayin’

Yeah, like Tomlin hired those brothas to run the O and D, Fitchner and Butler. Oh wait, he knew them from back at Arkansas State.

People hire who they know for the most part.

This is just sports, the toy department of life. Everyone should be worried that airlines are starting to embrace DEI and ESG, which is going to end in disaster.

I want the best pilot to fly the plane, not the one who checks the most social justice boxes.
