Carr is a career 63-79 QB, Cousins 72-63-2, this last season putting him over .500. If that's what they think they have after 2-3 years it's time to start looking again.

    Disagree.

I think if you have a great QB, you should focus your efforts on D because your QB is going to make all your weapons good because he's the reason (why we were "great" at drafting WRs with Ben).

Cousins is consistently a 100 QB rating. It's not his fault he was rarely gifted with a good defense in Minnesota.

Cousins can't elevate a team at all. Vikes have spent money on offensive weapons for him since 2018 and have very little to show from it. They got stuck with this guy who will still be on their books if they don't keep him after this year. Tannehill is another who you really don't want to be stuck with, but The Titans are LOL.

Yep, he's a stat compiler, good fantasy pickup, especially if they are trailing. He threw short of the sticks on 4th down to a blanketed TE in the playoff loss. Just no game sense.

Welp if KP ends up like Cousins then the Steelers will be drafting a QB in a few seasons.

Round one. RB B. Robinson is the man as Thomas, and the other players I like are off the board. He brings the SPEED that is needed to the offense, the diversity of running inside and outside and big play ability. All of which are needed. Good vision and acceleration. The acceleration in the first ten yards was 2nd Best among the RB's in 10 yards . He is special.

Round 2. OT D Jones. The best pure power run blocker in the draft with huge hands and very long arms. He did not work out in the combine fully. In pass protection he is solid enough but as a run blocker he has pro bowl ability. Parried with Robison the steelers can run the ball!

Round two. ILB J Campbell. A big three down ILB who tackles well, can hit , is surpringly effective in coverage due to his smarts . A leader.

Round three. DT.NT Ika A hard to move player, he is outstanding vs the run and so-so vs the. pass russ. We need such a player for our weak run defense

Round Three *** trade ** we ship off N Harris to the highest bidder, say the Chicago Bears and WR C Tillman. Tillman has the traits to be a good #2 WR, and is on the board so I'm taking him. Hey its my mock draft!

Round four QB Stenson Bennett. Worked out well at the combine showing elite quickness , a good arm , good ball velocity ( ties with Levis ) and kicked tail in the SEC as a starting QB. He is tough too and I suspect will score high on the wonderlic. I think he will go higher than this.

Round Seven P M Turk. He has an amazing leg and gets good hang time.

Round 7 . Best remaining G on the board.

    Free Agency DB's!
only you could take a topic like new QB contracts and morph it into a lets draft a RB post.

are you like this every draft every year?

I hope so. Good is the enemy of great. Can't settle, not in this AFC.

I think it's hard for teams to resist the temptation of paying a guy like Cousins.

Because it's hard to find a guy who is that good.

Unfortunately, that is probably not good enough if he's making a market contract. And they are in the NFC, which is worse re QB talent.

That's what I meant by getting stuck with guys like Cousins, Dak, or Tanny. They tease you into thinking they can get it done with a few flashes of brilliance at times during the regular season. So then a team spends and builds expensive support around them while giving them 30+/year, only to find out when playoff time comes, they turn into pumpkins. Now you get stuck with an inflated QB cap hit for years with little to show for your investment. Funniest part is you keep restructuring them meaning unless you're ready to take some dead cap hits down the road, you end up resigning them to lessen the impact.

It's comical when I look at these contracts. Dak has a dead cap hit over 36 mil after his contract in 2025, Cousins over 28 mil dead in 2024, Tanny over 9 mil dead in 2024 and another 4 mil dead in 2025. So now watch as these teams either extend those turds or try to deal them to someone else LOL.
