It's that time of year; people are talking about Super Bowls. I think this SB was our first glimpse of Cool Shades' liability as a HC; he was outcoached in this game. The one image I have from this game is seeing Polamalu getting torched over and over again. I knew Troy wasn't right for this game and do DID the Packers, but what did Pgh do? They left a gimpy Polamalu out there on one leg to get scorched over and over again. He was playing on ONE leg for God's sake, but Pgh kept his responsibilities the same, as if he was healthy.

Why did they do this? Cool Shades, in his infinite wisdom, thought Troy would just "come to play" and magically get over his injury. It didn't happen. Jordy Nelson fried Troy's attempted coverage for a TD, easy pickings. This game marked the beginning of Tomlin being exposed as a below average game day coach. And for a dozen years after, more of the same: nearly nary a playoff win. We are 6 years sans a playoff win. But hey, he hasn't had a losing season so, sign him up forever, Rooney!

Yeah..to see Tomlin get outcoached by McCarthy (who is another grade "C" coach") was our playoff glimpse into the future . Good point about Troy; he was hobbled.

The mendy fumble was bad, but the first turnover was the result of kemoatu getting trucked. The sad part was he had several physical AND mental collapses that year. Just lots of mistakes usually saved by ben’s heroics. Just not that game.

I don't get why the guys that blame Tomlin for everything and don't believe in his coaching abilities and leadership are still here.

Tomlin has his flaws as a coach. Even with his flaws he is still a top tier coach in the NFL.
