Talks are starting but this isn't what Steeler fans want to hear;

"He's going to have a long career," Brown told the team's radio broadcast during Super Wild Card Weekend, per ESPN. "We certainly want it to be here. I think his window will extend over his whole career. But there is the fact that when you don't have to pay the quarterback some extraordinary amount, that leaves room to pay other players more and, therefore, you can keep more players that are good players."
Burrow will certainly be compensated as one of the NFL's best quarterbacks, but it appears that he will do his part in making sure the Bengals can keep as much as their core together as possible. He will likely mimic the Tom Brady approach to contacts, an approach that has helped Brady become the most successful player in league history.
Wow. Burrow sees the big picture and is going to take less to have a good team around him. Wow. Someone from the young group has finally gotten smart on how to have a long career in today's NFL. Damn.
And once Burrow is successful doing it, other guys will mimic him down the line. This is going to put even more pressure on teams that don't have a franchise QB because now, franchise QB's are going to make sure they have comparable pieces around them to advance in the post season. This could phase out the , " build a team and have a game manager QB" idea because the franchise guys will have a team around them as well..thus putting the onus with all things being equal for the game manager to do more to win.
From the 2010-2022 season,(A 13 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.
Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's
We need a legit, franchise, play making QB. IF Pickett isn't that guy then we've got to go get one. From somewhere.

Ben was a legitimate quarterback. I think I get what SM is saying. He’s thinking that if all play making quarterbacks end up doing what Burrow is suggesting that franchise quarterbacks will have an equally good team around them as game manager quarterbacks so then there is no advantage that game manager quarterbacks would have anymore over legitimate play making quarterbacks? Is that right SM?
