That's wishful thinking. Mahomes got the biggest deal in football at the time. And he's in the Super Bowl right now. Why? Because his GM obviously knows what he's doing (in Super Bowl 3 out of 4 years) and the cap just got raised which is going to help KC even more.

Sure.. because Mahomes is probably the best QB of this generation. Look at the rest of them instead of the outlier.

For every Mahomes you have 7 QB’s making tons of money who aren’t winning jack.

Guys like Dak and Derek carr are getting $40m+. Jared Goff is at $33m. The expectation is just too high for QB salaries and is killing cap space for a lot of teams...

Last year, the Chiefs had to let go of arguably the best WR in the league - and when they gave Mahommes the contract, they overhauled the o-line with rookies and steelers-types, mid-levels on the o-line.

To me, where we presently are feels a little like when the RB salaries hit a ceiling and they re-established the market. If Burrow does go through with his plan, I think it could be the start of re-establishing the QB market

and the story after the KC win was how they did it with no WR’s to end the game.

if KC’s wins it won’t be a blueprint for teams to model, it will be an example of a QB being a freak of nature and carrying his team on his back.

But Mahomes is in the Super Bowl. His salary has not inhibited them from winning. And Derek Carr is about to get cut and be lucky to make half of that 40 mil. Dak was an over payment too. You don't think the owners don't see this?

I don't think Daniel Jones is getting 48 mil a year and neither is Geno Smith. The owners will put the brakes to average guys getting above and beyond contracts. They'll talk amongst themselves about it..even thou they pretend that they don't.

Sure. A defense that played against 3 backup OL. They won the game because of Mahomes (and Kelce). Everything else went along for the ride.
