True but this is a Steelers discussion board and I'm just wondering who actually believes he'd be a top 10 QB playing for the Steelers. Top 20? lol. I don't even think he's a top 10 QB in the NFL, he's the weakest part of the Niners offense imo and may be the reason they fall short of winning the SB once again.
With this MC as OC here, no he won't be a top-10 performer, but his skill set is above our current QB.
He might be the weakest part and fail to elevate the 49ers to a SB win, but he gives them a better chance than what they had before. It's weird the hate Brock gets after like 10 or 11 game appearances which doesn't even equate to a full season of football. People dismiss the quality of his passes he puts on WRs to go and make plays and only look at the surrounding cast. The guy was a free pick and already better than most starting QBs in the league.

Was Tomlin “super risk averse” with Ben? Theres your answer. KP just isnt that good and at best is a game manager dont turn the ball over type of QB. If KP truly was a special QB does anyone really believe they wouldnt let him toss the rock all over the field? Come on guys yall are smarter than this.
Trolls are people too.
They were talking about Purdy on the radio today. They speculated that one critical thing helped him in his development. In college, he had no-name receivers who couldn't get separation from your grandmother. It caused Purdy to develop hyper accuracy to compensate. Contrast that with 'name' QBs from big programs where one or multiple receivers are typically wide open and don't need the accuracy to avoid disaster. It makes some sense. Look who's leading the Steelers for receptions... the guy with a catch radius 2X normal. Pickett had Addison in college. Fields had a collection of receivers to pick from.
He might have won the super bowl his rookie year. Only two QB's play in the super bowl a rookie has not started the game. Purdy was injured after looking very good in playoff game one. Than in injury came. The jury is in on Purdy at least being a top 15 QB.
No one here should compare him and Pickett.
The Steelers had a great draft in 2023. However better play calling / coaching is badly needed. Tomlin is hasn't won a playoff game in six years and counting. Nor has hired anyone good to his coaching staff. Think about that. Mike Tomlin says, " hell yeah we've got to make some changes. " We are waiting. But Khan and Weidl appear to have better management on the salary cap and focused on the right free agents and draft needs.
but we are letting Kenny pass all over the field.
First 4 possessions vs, SF: 1) pass, pass, pass... 2) run, pass, pass... 3) pass, run, pass.. 4) pass, pass, pass
First 3 plays vs CLE; pass, pass, pass.. 18 pass attempts in the first half.
We are letting Kenny pass TOO MUCH because our running game is terrible at the moment.
Look at SF with Purdy. They do a great job mixing up the pass and runs. They run on 3rd and 8. Half of Purdy's passes are screen and swing passes.
We have NO RHYTHM on offense right now and this will continue if we keep pussyfooting behind the LOS with these run plays and start running downhill. Remember how you said we were going smash mouth? Where is it? I wish we went smash mouth, its more like mush mouth.
As much as I want to blame Canada for his play calling (mostly the drive killing sweeps), Kenny is just missing when he is back there and he isn't comfortable and it shows.
But we are giving him chances to throw it all over the field which is why he is getting the bulk of the blame thus far. He's not making the most of these chances.
Find my post for me and help me prove I’m Black
I honestly see much hate out there for the guy, and I'm not sure why. Nobody knows what he can do to elevate SF in the playoffs yet, so that jury is still out. Do I think he's better than Jimmy G and gives them a better chance?, yes, but again he has to prove things come playoff time. In terms of comparison with KP, he's simply better in many aspects of the position at this junction of their career path.

Brock made several 3rd and long plays last night. Up to the Bell TD, he was 6 for 7 for 101 yds.
