Yeah...Ben was bull rushed but he did it. And that's on him.

unless you actually get the lead its just hypotheticals. Someone else could’ve fumbled the next play or another INT could’ve happened.

Don’t get me wrong. As a fan I do it too but its never set in stone that we would’ve scored and won if O’Donnell didn’t throw that second INT or Mendenhall didn’t fumble.
Ben did bring us back: we never got the lead but he put us in position to take the lead. Mendenhall had a clear path to score IF he had held on to the ball and we'd have taken the lead. Now would we have held on to the lead? Who knows. But Ben did bring us back and put us in position to take a lead.

Yes, context DOES matter. Try remembering that when you wonder why Tomlin RIGHTLY wants safer calls WHEN we are struggling with turnovers.

His history shows that he is FINE playing more wide open when the time is right.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

It’s funny to me that if you go to Mendys Twitter page his bio says “Super Bowl XLIII Champion” when obviously he didn’t contribute anything to that victory. Now he’s trying not to take any credit for the loss to the Packers. It’s good to see him getting called out on that.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

He got crushed immediately after getting the ball.

You can tell some people don’t watch the games or arrived late to the party.

clear path to score? what game was he watching?

I don't think I'd put too much stock in what Mendenhall has to say.

Ben has said that he deserves the blame in the past. More than Mendenhall has, I'd guess.

Seems pretty clear that he's narcistic about this stuff and just needs to feel important on twitter now and again.

remember when Steel Maniac tried to blame Lamar Jackson for losing the Ravens game, except LJ was hurt early in the first quarter and didn't really play?

pretty sure he doesn't watch the games.

Disagree. Ball is securely in hand. RM took at least 3 steps before getting hit. A RB's number one task is to take care of the ball. He didn't. It's on him.

I thought Ben retired last year. Why is this an issue. I blame Mendy and the TE (can’t recall his name) that stood there and watched the ball bounce. The TE whiffed and hung Mendy out to dry, but it’s his responsibility to take care of the rock.

Wasn’t Ward also in the bench or had he retired by then. Not too many other players I want in the game in crunch time than Hines.

Ben was never the best of teammates to every player early in his career. Did Ben change as his career progressed? Probably not.

I don't see the reason to call Ben out at this point. Is Mendenhall writing a book or something?

I don’t blame one play for that loss. We still had chances after that play.

I put more blame on the play call than Mendenhall. If he was fighting for extra yards and fumbled I would give more blame to him but that was bang bang and he was hit behind the LOS.
I don't blame that one play, either, but Mendenhall secured the ball and took a few steps before coughing it up. He choked.
