ehh, Ben had a pick 6 and threw another INT in that game.

At 21-10 we had a 50 yard drive on the ground and Mendenhall had a 17 yard run, Isaac Redman had 2 runs for 19 yards, Ben scrambled for 6 and Mendenhall scored on an 8 yard run.

Of course it all went south after the fumble but we did have the ball with over a minute left down 6. I was shocked Ben didn’t pull a rabbit out of the hat since that was when he shined the brightest.

Not blaming Ben for the loss but a pick 6 and we lost by 7. That fumble killed momentum but it didn’t end the game. We still had chances to stop GB and failed. Unfortunately that was when we started seeing our vets lose a step because usually our D stepped up in those moments. You can’t really give a QB credit for not getting the lead.

    Just sayin’.

I know what Ben did; But he still got us back into position to win that game if Mendenhall didn't fumble it away. Ben brought us back from his boo boos early; did Mendenhall bring us back from his?
From the 2011-2022 season,(A 12 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

Ben was hit as he threw the pick six - again, context matters. Kemoeatu got bull rushed into him. Mendenhall had a shot to tackle the DB but overran him at the 20-yard line.

and someone whiffed on a block which caused Mendenhall to fumble.

    see how this works? lol

I don’t blame one play for that loss. We still had chances after that play.

I put more blame on the play call than Mendenhall. If he was fighting for extra yards and fumbled I would give more blame to him but that was bang bang and he was hit behind the LOS.

Ben didn’t bring us back. We never led in that game.

While we had momentum and we all want to believe we were going to score..

unless you actually get the lead its just hypotheticals. Someone else could’ve fumbled the next play or another INT could’ve happened.

Don’t get me wrong. As a fan I do it too but its never set in stone that we would’ve scored and won if O’Donnell didn’t throw that second INT or Mendenhall didn’t fumble.

Yeah...Ben was bull rushed but he did it. And that's on him.

Ben did bring us back: we never got the lead but he put us in position to take the lead. Mendenhall had a clear path to score IF he had held on to the ball and we'd have taken the lead. Now would we have held on to the lead? Who knows. But Ben did bring us back and put us in position to take a lead.

Yes, context DOES matter. Try remembering that when you wonder why Tomlin RIGHTLY wants safer calls WHEN we are struggling with turnovers.

His history shows that he is FINE playing more wide open when the time is right.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

It’s funny to me that if you go to Mendys Twitter page his bio says “Super Bowl XLIII Champion” when obviously he didn’t contribute anything to that victory. Now he’s trying not to take any credit for the loss to the Packers. It’s good to see him getting called out on that.
Obviously the standard is the standard.
