No to Porter Jr. in the 1st

Nothing special, other than the idea of nepotism. Not especially fast, barely had any picks at PSU. What makes him a worthy 1st round draft pick? We've already had plenty of CBs who couldn't make ints. No thanks. We need turnovers desperately with this offense.

    The same resource you listed.

Actually, the last corner we had that "could not catch" was our best shut down corner since Woodson.

It is the kind of corner who helped get us rings.

    Stop it.
We LEAD THE LEAGUE in picks. We are good at that.

We NEED somebody who can shut down a teams elite receiver like Ike did.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

    So
    1. Already slotted as a mid first value.
    2. Porters kid.
    3. Tall, long, can't catch AND Ike is a scout?

If he is there... he is OURS.

he's knocking the ball away a lot in this clip. those are the ball skills you want in a corner. the ints are a plus for sure, but defending the pass is just as big

Ike was a 4th round pick, but in a 1st round CB he better be fast as lightening and able to make picks. This kid is neither. Just because his Dad was a Steeler is not a reason to take him, unless you're an old fashioned, antiquated team...oh wait.

I don't know. In 34 games played he had only he 1 interception. Just one and it happed two years ago.

This year he has 11 passes defended which good. He is not a hard hitter with just one forced fumble in 34 games played, and has a low amount of tackles.

Okay so he is not a good tackler, hitter nor does he produce interceptions.

I have to watch him in isolation to see if he cover well. He might play very little man coverage. It depends on how he was used. Maybe he is a one on one shut down type of player. I do not have faith in our ability to pick corners in the draft.

How many yards did he surrender? Anyone know? This will tell me a lot.

The Steelers had a great draft in 2023. However better play calling / coaching is badly needed. Tomlin is hasn't won a playoff game in six years and counting. Nor has hired anyone good to his coaching staff. Think about that. Mike Tomlin says, " hell yeah we've got to make some changes. " We are waiting. But Khan and Weidl appear to have better management on the salary cap and focused on the right free agents and draft needs.

You're just reading stat lines again. Have you seen him play a single down?
