The TFW club often misses the obvious, they just do. Not only is our HC on record for saying he "doesn't understand" how to use HIS 4th round pick, but so did our OC. THEY, in all their wisdom, drafted the guy, and yet, don't know how to use him. The TFW club informed us that Austin "completes the roster" for Canada's system. That's what the yinzers were told and what they parroted back to us.

Your right. But you got to remember one thing:

This is an organization that passed on the best center in the NFL (Humpries) to put all their eggs in Green (a bust).

So I wouldn't put it past them to take a WR in the first round.

But.........I'm hoping that our new GM and his crew draft much more sensibly then Colbert in Colbert's last couple of years.
From the 2010-2022 season,(A 13 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

    Thanks Chuckstown!

Wow...if that's true, we might not even get the chance to draft him.

Teams like cheap WRs. Teams also like speed.

Wonder why I heard he wasn't fast. That's very fast.

    Maybe I'm misremembering.

If he is that fast...and apparently he's good in the slot? Seems like we need a guy who can take short passes and turn them into explosive plays.

DJ was good at this basically every year but this year. So hopefully he gets that back too.

Your "member of the team" delusion is getting very tired... Fortunately, it's easy to re-iterate that there is no "we," plus I'm tireless.... Whatever is your opinion on the Steelers "needs," the Steelers will remain core to their brand and draft the best available player, regardless of their position... I think the Steelers will draft a guard with Chicago's pick... One needs to keep in mind that teams draft defensively (ie... take players off the board so that other teams can't draft them...) then use them to move up later (this is an oversimplification, drafting's hard, which is why I never presume to do it, nor try to offer mock drafts...)

Some chain-smokers still fail to understand that the "doesn't understand" how to use HIS 4th round pick excuse is the 'it's not you, it's me...' answer of the NFL....
I still don't understand why you use "yinzer" as a pejorative... it is not... it is a moniker 'devoutly to be wished...'

First round WR makes one receiver better.

First round LT makes every receiver and the QB better

Every now and then I peak at his post to see and 9 times out of 10 I hate myself for it.

No one to blame but myself.

I think this is a great way of thinking about it.

I think skill players should be toward the bottom of the rebuilding check list for this reason.
