    Intriguing OCs

Looking at possible OCs to replace Canada next season.

    • Pretty much everyone is mentioning Reich. If he is willing to go back to OC he would be worth an interview.
    • Brandon Staley; murmurs are that he may not get past this season as HC if LAC again crap the bed in the playoff race. While he hasn't had much success putting together a winning defense his offenses have been respectable (I know, he has Herbert). Still grooming KP for future greatness would be in his wheelhouse.
    • Ken Zampese; done some very good stuff with Heineke in WAS. Been around quarterbacks most of his career
    • Darrell Bevell; been around with GB, MIN, SEA in offensive roles. Now the Fins QB coach, and we see how he's turned Tua around.

This is the most exciting thing I can think of for the off season. Barring making the playoffs and winning a game, I can't fathom Canada surviving. It would be an epic travesty for him to keep his job. There would be riots in the city of Pittsburgh! LOL

Reich... I love the idea of a QB being a coordinator.

I just hope they bring in someone from the outside and don't promote within.

You have to wonder what the relationship between Bevell and Flores.

I worry that whoever it is, Tomlin will still handcuff them with short passes.

Good list but I'm pretty sure Staley's background is defense.

Do you really think Flores is on staff next season? I don't. This was a placeholder job and just like any season there will be HC positions open. Now, getting hired is another story.

Good point. And their defenses haven't been great. Maybe the Herbert effect > Staley Effect?

I think him grabbing a HC gig may not be plausible, but a DC job for sure would be. You just KNOW he's chomping at the bit to get out from under Shades' catastrophe. With using more $ on D than any other team, Pgh's D is ranked 24th.

Staley has been a DC or on that side of the ball his whole career.
AND IT shows in his sometimes ridiculous decisions in going for it on 4th downs.
Why would you want him as an OC.

Bring in Lincoln Riley as head coach. Someone who knows how to make decisions on the offensive side of the ball. Easier to find a competent DC that will stay with you than the other way around.

the top OCs are in higher demand then DCs. Reflective of todays game

We seem to like hiring failed HCs as coordinators.

So I think Reich makes sense.

Hopefully we do a legit search and hire from the outside.
