Again, Saturday has ZERO experience and you and a few others are defending the hiring like it's normal when its never been done before in the history of the game.

I love seeing you guys defend an owner who says "its a good thing he doesn't have any professional experience" and think you are making a solid point.

You do realize this isn’t the first time a player has jumped the line. Its been happening for like 20 years now but when it first happened I’m sure there was an uproar.

Personally I don’t give a damn about broadcasting but if I did? Sure.. I would totally see why people are upset players are getting gigs. I wouldn’t shrug like people complaining didn’t have a legit point.

I’m not a fan of Steve Smith as an analyst. Dude is horrible and his analogies are comedy.. and not in a good way.

Put it this way.. the NBA is starting to give more players coaching gigs without any coaching experience. I thought it was a terrible idea. Over time, we are seeing some will work out, some won’t but the turnover in the NBA is pretty quick. They will fire a HC 7 games into their career.

But I would also ask, do you think its fair that Sanders jumped the line? I don’t but I’m aware its been a common practice with networks for a long time. Also, Sanders has been a guest host on the network years ago so its not like he came in cold. He has tape as a guest analyst but sure, its unfair for people who do this for years trying to get that gig but No one trying to work in TV is shocked players ate getting gigs these days.. its common practice.

according to former nfl exec, mike lombardi, half the players around the league are happy about the move. why are you and many making this out to be like hiring a nuclear physicist? is fuking football, they hired someone who's played and been around the game a long time.
1st game in vs. vegas they look crisp and only have 4 penalties.

it may be the first time its happened in the nfl but not in all of sports.
do you think golden state regrets hiring steve kerr right out of the booth?
i read they did it with mark jackson as well.

people like cowher and thomas need to get off their high horse of thinking this is something driven by scientific data going about this in a certain way.
lastly, its a friggin interim job. where there are no Rooney type rules in place. as they said plenty of times, they will go through the normal process at the end of the year to be compliant with said rules

but the NBA is also way more progressive than the NFL when it comes to coaching opportunities.

and no, I had no idea Dungy and Caldwell coached for the Colts. (Sarcasm)...

I also know Cadlwell and Dungy had 45 years of combined coaching experience BEFORE being hired.

Somehow this is lost on people when discussing why the Saturday hire is unprecedented.
