Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
Even your TV can "slow down the feed" if it's not optimized to run the app in the TV's operating system. I have the Amazon 4k FireStick. It seems to be pretty well optimized to stream all the popular apps. And I would think it has as good a chance of running Amazon's app as efficiently as any TV. The direct connection between the stick and the 4k HDMI port isn't slowing anything down.

With Amazon's 4k FireStick, I had great quality the whole way through the game and no issues with audio quality or sync. I think I'll try next week in my basement, which uses a Roku and is farther from my FIOS internet router and see if there's any difference.
Of course, if you're connecting your SmarTV to a wired ethernet port of your router, then you'll have the best internet connection as opposed to a wireless connection (assuming it's not a super long ethernet cable). But my FireStick is literally 2 ft. from my FIOS wireless router, so the connection is always very stable and fast.

Not sure if this is related but last week's game against NE on Sunday ticket was terrible. Stream dropped for most of the game. When I called Directtv they blame it on the "NFL feed" and not their service. Apparently there are multiple streams going out of the NFL system and any one of them can be independently affected. Don't know, beyond my pay grade.
