    No. He doesn’t.
From the 2011-2022 season,(A 12 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Currently, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years.

Steeler fans still loving on Tomlin now, are the same as Dolphin fans in the 90's who were still loving on Shula for what he did in the 70's

This is what I would have thought about Mitch before last season.

But he was pretty terrible for us. Trying to rack up big plays by throwing deep on 3rd too often. Especially since he sucks at throwing deep.

He was OK when he came in after KP got hurt. Seems like he was playing in the system then.

It seems to me that we'd get similar play from a cheaper journeyman. But I'm not the one writing the checks.

    Ask the Niners that question.

MT was playing like he had nothing to lose early in the season. And he pretty much didn't because of KP waiting in the wings. His games against TB and CAR prove he can win in short stints (triple digit QB ratings). That's what you need from a backup.

But if he still thinks he can be a starter, how do you know he isn't going to go rogue with any limited action he gets?

I think he'll end up pressuring the team to let him go

I thought Mitch played stiff and was way too conservative those first 4 games. Throwing deep uncatchable ball on 3rd down wasn’t impressive at all.

He did play well in the Tampa and Carolina game and hopefully that is what we see if he is called to play next year.

While I appreciate players having confidence, unless a team has a season ending injury or the QB gets traded like Wilson in Seattle, there should be no reason for Mitch and his agent to believe he will be a starter again. That ship has sailed.

His best shot is a Dobbs like situation in TN where he gets the call and actually wins a meaningful game and goes on a run. No one is sitting around thinking they need Mitch to start a 17 game season. Ain’t happening.

Right. I thought Mitch was playing a bit scared to lose, not like he had nothing to lose.

He seems to have all the tools but he hasn't been able to get and keep himself in the "zone". Some guys can get there and stay there. Some guys can't.

I think the Tampa and Carolina game.. and even the Rats game he player like he had nothing to lose but early in the season he played timid football. Maybe that was a typo by NC.
