I kind of think signing a QB now means we're not looking for a QB in the 1st...although that's what I want so I could easily just be looking for what I want to happen.
We'll only have 4 guys come to camp and one of them won't make the team.
Signing a UFA means that we'll have to cut Haskins if we draft someone.
Certainly not the end of the world. But if the plan is really to go all in and trade up, why not just have the draft pick play behind Mason and Haskins and save the cap space for Mitch somewhere else.

This ends the Watson dream but I think that ended weeks ago when everyone said the Steelers were not interested.
That will sell sone tickets.
lol
of it’s more then 5M per year, it’s a bad move
Structure might matter.
It could be something where it's not hard to get out of after year 1, but the value ramps up quickly in year 2.
I don't think that would be terrible as long as we can get out.
Cheap in year 1. But if we decide that you're going to be a starter in year 2, then you get paid more.
The problem with that structure would be that if we decide we don't want him to start in year 2, we're back to having no QBs on the roster in 2023.
